Happy Groundhog day! Today is when Punxsutawney Phil, the groundhog “predicts” the weather. It is a yearly tradition held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania that hold that if the sun comes out, the Groundhog/hedgehog will see its shadow and six more weeks of winter will follow.

You probably can’t miss that Valentine’s Day is fast approaching. Almost everywhere you go on Valentine’s Day, you’ll see red hearts and signs of ‘Be My Valentine.’ For some of us, it can be a very sweet holiday, giving us a reason to be extra romantic. And for those without a special someone in their lives it can be a holiday that they rather not acknowledge. Valentine’s Day, however, is not only for ‘lovers.’ I think of it as a day where I get to express my feelings to all those that I love: parents, children, friends, etc. It’s also a time to be a bit playful. So go ahead and send out a couple of cards or buy a sweet gift for those you love.
